Meet Wesley Hall

Meet Wesley Hall, a candidate for the Upper Chattahoochee Conservation Supervisor. Wesley is a farmer in Cumming, Georgia. He produces hay and raises grass-fed, grain finished beef. Wesley and his wife, Dawn, are the proud parents of four children. They are active members of Beaver Ruin Baptist Church. In addition, Wesley serves as a state director for Georgia Farm Bureau. Georgia Farm Bureau is Georgia’s largest general farming organization that advocates for agriculture in Atlanta and Washington and promotes education in agriculture. He is the Forsyth County Farm Bureau President where he promotes agriculture and conservation in local schools. He has served as secretary and president of the North Georgia Cattlemen’s Association. In 2010, he won the Georgia Farm Bureau Young Farmer Achievement Award for district 1. The Hall family was chosen as Forsyth County’s Farm Family of the Year in 2022 by the Upper Chattahoochee Soil and Water Conservation District. Wesley grew up in the Cumming area on a farm helping his grandparents with cattle and poultry houses. Wesley values our land and wants to preserve our natural resources. He asks for your vote in the November election for the position of Upper Chattahoochee Conservation Supervisor. As a soil and water conservation supervisor, Wesley would work with homeowners, landowners, business owners, and farmers equally on programs to promote soil and water conservation. Soil and Water District Supervisors carry out education programs, direct resources to conservation practices, and make scholarships available to local students pursuing degrees in conservation. The Upper Chattahoochee District is made up of five counties: Dawson, Forsyth, Habersham, Lumpkin, and White. All five county supervisors work as a team to carry out the Upper Chattahoochee District’s goals and objectives. Soil and Water District Supervisors do not set policy or regulations. They are not responsible for enforcing codes or environmental violations. Their role is primarily outreach. Wesley sees this position as an opportunity to work with the county government, residents, and the extension office to host conservation workshops, field days, Stewardship Week, and education contests. While soil and water is heavily involved in agriculture conservation, there are many programs and events relevant to homeowners. Some examples that Wesley sees as a benefit to Forsyth County residents and the Upper Chattahoochee District are septic tank health and maintenance workshop, teen conservation workshop, pollinator workshops, and urban agriculture workshop. Anyone can join the Upper Chattahoochee Soil and Conservation District as an affiliate member to support conservation in our district.
